From November 13 to 15, iconic filmmaker David Lynch hosted his Fourth Annual David Lynch Weekend at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa. David was joined by quantum physicist John Hagelin and hundreds of students from throughout the country for wide-ranging discussions on creativity, consciousness, meditation, filmmaking, new approaches to education, and strategies to live a more satisfying, productive life.
The weekend opened on Friday evening with a festive welcome from David, John, and the DLF.TV's Heather Hartnett—along with great entertainment from a group of MUM's talented, international musicians. Other sessions included a workshop on how participants can get more involved with the David Lynch Foundation on their local college campuses and a report on the achievements of the Foundation's global initiative to teach one million at-risk youth to meditate, workshops. A highlight of the DLW was the Saturday evening concert with legendary troubadour Donovan, Laura Dawn and The Little Death, and special guest artist James (son of Paul) McCartney.

The David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace was founded in July 2005 by the award winning filmmaker David Lynch with the immediate goal of teaching one million at-risk youth to meditate. The Foundation has already provided over 100,000 scholarships for students to learn the Transcendental Meditation technique, as well as inmates and guards in prisons, formerly homeless men in re-entry programs, soldiers with PTSD returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, and American Indians suffering from diabetes.

In April 2009, David Lynch launched David Lynch Foundation Television (DLF.TV): The Online TV Channel, which celebrates, in David's words, "consciousness, creativity and bliss." DLF.TV showcases high quality video content from David Lynch Foundation events, compelling profiles and documentaries, exclusive content from David himself, and explores all aspects of creativity.
